Kick-Ass 2 on the Way

It’s been 2 years since Kick-Ass debuted in Hollywood and it’s just about that time for the sequel to come along and entertain us once again. Well the word on 20th Century Fox Studio is that the sequel, which is titled Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall will have a late 2012 release date or so we were told, but Fox hasn’t made any official statements yet so I guess we’ll just have to wait when they do.

The action sequences in the first film were by far the most awesome in what I would like to call “street-levelers” superheroes. I especially liked Hit Girl, oh the bad guys could not see it coming – this seemingly little girl is actually more poisonous than a desert cobra.

Rumor has it that Jeff Wadlow will be writing the script for the sequel, he is known for films as Never Back Down, The Tower of Babel and Cry Wolf. Although I would prefer it if Jane Goldman returned to write the script for the sequel, but in any case it’s still Matthew Vaughn’s call and given his exemplary work on X-Men First Class I think he will clear up all unwanted stuff in the sequel to make it work.

With Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong) now gone, who will step up as the badass super villain to match Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) and Hit Girl’s (ChloĆ« Grace Moretz) audacity when it comes to crime fighting? Certainly Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is not going to be enough to take them on, but if Fox is going to push through with the sequel and with Matthew Vaughn on the director’s seat once again, then I’m certain it’s going to be a blast!

Whatever Fox has in store for us fans I can’t wait until it hits the big screens once again. I hope to see more action from the both of the main characters – Kick-Ass and Hit Girl!
