Recommended Watiching This Week: Resident Evil: Retribution

Mila Jovovich returns as Alice in “Resident Evil: Retribution” the movie that will bring the franchise full circle, or maybe they’ll make another one or reboot it completely. Who knows? But a lot of movie fans as well as fans from the video game series will want more “Resident Evil” movie, it’s no wonder why the franchise has had a big success in the span of 10 years. Somehow Paul W.S. Anderson and Screen Gems Studios were able to bring the film back to the big screens and impress a lot of audience, despite what critics are saying. So if you’re a fan of the franchise also, then you can walk into any cinema this week because they just released it today.

The Long and the Short of it
Well the plot this time thickens with fear, doubt and uncertainty as old enemies becomes an unlikely aly and one can just imagine Alice tried to fight this guy Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) for the past four films; yet now she must trust him in order to save what’s left of humanity. Old friends were being brought back as Umbrella Corp. clones and imprints real memories in them, while some are being forced to serve Umbrella’s evil artificial intelligence against their will to hunt down and kill Alice. Plus with Alice’s powers now gone she needed help to defeat the overwhelming force that Umbrella has deployed to destroy her. Fortunately, she has more allies now more than ever and for a film that will seemingly  ends the franchise (though still debatable), this one is not so bad after all. I guarantee you will enjoy the story and action sequences of it.

It feels kinda sad to see the last installment of the Resident Evil movies, but hey there’s always the reboot and maybe we’ll get to see it sooner than expected. This franchise is very salable I doubt that Screen Gems will put it on the shelf for a long time. In the mean time you can always enjoy the latest Resident Evil video games releases while waiting for the reboot or do a movie marathon of all the 6 movies. Cheers!
