Latest Devices Offered in the Market Having the Windows 8 OS

Last Friday, October 26, 2012 at precisely 12:01 am EST Microsoft launched the operational version of Windows 8 and thousands of brands that built devices compatible with Microsoft’s software were waiting in-line for it. But now finally released the companies will boast their individual marketing prowess to impress customers. However, even though they have various units developed for various needs and people using them their operating system will be the same, which is the Windows version 8.

Already Microsoft has certified over 1,000 products for the Windows 8 OS and its little brother the Windows RT (which is used for small handheld devices). While the Windows 8 OS is exclusively for desktop PCs that are hardwired to the power grid the Windows RT is the Windows 8 version for smartphones, tablets and laptops, whose batteries won’t last for more than 10 hours straight of operation. Both essentially looks the same and it’s only the programming platform which is different.

Among the top brands that got Microsoft’s approval include:

  • Hewlett-Packard ElitePad 900
  • Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx
  • Toshiba U925t
  • Lenovo Yoga 11
  • Asus Taichi
  • Dell XPS 12
  • Asus VivoTab RT
  • Sony Vaio Duo 11
  • Sony Tap 20

So if you’re still undecided about which units to purchase or which brands you should lean towards to, then with all do respect please compare each product’s specs and list down the things you like best about them to narrow down your search. At least with this arrangement there’s little or nothing to regret about not getting that other product up for sale.
