We have all fallen in love together with the mystery and magnificence of the Harry Potter series authored by the legendary J.K. Rowling and the actors and actresses who effectively portrayed their roles as young wizards and witches of a clandestine, magical world. Now we wonder, what was next for the actors of the movie franchise after Harry Potter 7?
One of the more popular actresses of all time, Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in all the Harry Potter films, has moved on from Hogwarts to getting a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Brown University five long years after starting as a freshman. The 24 year old actress admitted that it was quite challenging to juggle studies and work especially when everybody at her university recognized and scrutinized her in every way possible. She even stated that she was in denial for a while, saying that she wanted to pretend she wasn’t famous to seek out normality.
Initially, Emma Watson felt uncomfortable with the attention the whole university had on her as it caused a frenzyin the campus – but wait, who wouldn’t make a big deal about a Harry Potter star enrolled in your university? -- The first few months were bumpy but as time passed, she was quickly accepted as a typical student of the campus. She knew she found great friends in Brown when she threw a 20th birthday bash at the campus and not a single person in that celebration dared to put up pictures on the internet. Good job, friends. That was one great way to express respect for Emma’s privacy!
Despite the difficulties, she sincerely embraced who she was – still is -- and managed to surpass the pressure brought by worldwide popularity in a mediocre environment (as it is evidently difficult to blend in a crowd of fans without getting unwanted attention) like she would always pass through the brick wall at platform 9-3/4 at King Cross Station in London to get to the school we all want to get accepted in – Hogwarts School of Wizardry.
Couldn’t get enough of Emma?
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15th 1990 in Paris. Her parents, Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, are both successful British lawyers. Emma rose to popularity as a brilliant actress and a stunning model after her mentioned exposure in all of the eight Harry Potter films. She was nine when she moved on from petty school plays to high-grossing movies. Emma Watson debuted as a model for Burberry’s autumn and winter collection in the year 2009. Four years later, she was named as the sexiest female movie star in the world by Empire magazine. Way to go, Emma! You have evolved into a woman of glamour and talent!
Her involvement in the entertainment industry grew further after the last installment of the Harry Potter series. She was casted in The Tale of Despereaux based on the novel written by Kate DiCamillo that grossed around $85 million worldwide, the television series franchise of Ballet Shoes, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower movie – a popular novel among teens by Stephen Chbosky – and most recently she landed a role in the biblical epic, Noah.
